Overview

Cavity Free at Three (CF3) improves the oral health of Colorado’s children and pregnant people by improving access to preventive oral health services. The integrated care program teaches medical clinicians how to incorporate oral health screenings, fluoride varnish application, and patient goal setting into prenatal and well child visits. It also offers training for dental professionals on the current recommendations for preventive services. CF3 is recognized as an evidence-driven program housed at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE).

What we offer gradient accent

  • Pre-training planning and implementation support.
  • Free certification training and skill building to deliver and bill Colorado Medicaid for oral health screening and fluoride varnish services during well child visits for children up to age 12.
  • Post-training follow up and technical support for general billing, tailored workflow recommendations, sustainability and more.
  • Access to free patient resources including a starter kit of supplies.

  • Promote the integration of oral health services as standard clinic practice.
  • Coordinate training logistics including training location with CF3 staff.
  • Attend 2 hour live training with all staff present.
  • Continued efforts to sustain the CF3 model in your well child visits.

Integrating oral health services takes an average of 2-3 minutes, requires no extra equipment, and is reimbursable by Health First Colorado and most private insurers.
